Just a Sunday...with Bubble Tea

Exciting news! I have just discovered Bubble Tea today! My sister and I had lunch on Grand River this afternoon and then we went to this magical little places a few steps down Grand River called Bubble Island! Well, it's just a tea shop, however they were playing some kick-ass music (oldies of course). Anyway, bubble tea is the weirdest. I had the Strawberry Calpico (I think), with regular bubbles. I know, what is there other than regular bubbles...rainbow bubbles?

Anyway, the bubbles in the tea or chewy and slimy but really cool. Definitely an experience to have if you go to MSU. So Spartans, go there....soon.

Other than that it was a very boring but productive Sunday. I did so much schoolwork (ugh...college), studied for that midterm that I have next week in my COM 100 class, cleaned my dorm room that my roommate left nasty as hell when she left for the weekend (complete with microwaved potato and cheese sitting in a bowl that stunk up our room to high heaven), organized my half of the room.....well, it was a productive day.

So about my roommate....
Hopefully by this weekend, I'll be swapping with another girl on my floor because things have gotten wayyyyy out of hand. At first, I was totally optimistic about going into college "blind," not knowing who my roommate was going to be. However, I can say that it is something that I will NEVER do again. Now, I don't want to discourage all you out their who have the idea of "college" in your near or distant future. I think that going in blind for roommates can have great outcomes! Unfortunately, I'm living in hell and I want out.

Her name is Megan. She is from East Grand Rapids Michigan of which I am constantly reminded by her that it is the 8th nicest suburb to live in in all of the United States of freakin' America. Hey there, honey...guess what, I'm from Huntington Woods Michigan, the 10th nicest suburb to live in in all of the USofA so HA!

Ah! Little stuff like that she is constantly reminding me of. Oh, and did I metion that she has a serious and actual temper problem. One day, she was getting ready for work and she was going to be late (she is always late to everything). However this time, she could find her hat. So, as I am still sleeping in my lofted and semi-comfortable bed, she starts making so much noise and rummaging through all of her stuff you find her stinking hat. Wouldn't any normal person assume that if you could not find a part of your uniform that you would just leave, be ON TIME for work, and explain to your boss when you got their that you couldn't find it and just tie your hair up? Yeah, any normal person would. However Megan is far from normal.

So as I'm still sleeping and she is still acting as a Class 5 tornado whirling through our room leaving no survivors, she decides to CHUCK, not lightly move to the side so she can see behind, literally CHUCK her heavy-duty metal step-stool ACROSS the room. It then continued to hit my desk directly underneath me, waking me up. Once I was awake, I asked her what was wrong....no response.

In the end, she never found her hat, left the room leaving the door open and also leaving the light on. I guess at that point I was up considering the fact that I had to scale down my bed frame to close the door.

I don't want you guys to think this is the worst of it though. No why would I want you to think that? The list could go on forever with her tantrums and issues but here are just a few that I have had the pleasure to encounter...

During the first Presidential Debate of 2012, she came in the room, slammed the door, threw all of her stuff to the ground and proceeded to tell me how I should be watching the debate because "it's kinda a big deal in America right now in case you didn't know." The TV was on and I was watching it. Yeah, that's how much that situation was messed up. I left the room for the rest of the night so she could cool down and when I came back, she acted like nothing had happened.

Ummmm...she clips her toenails in our room on my futon and then throws the remnants of her nails onto our floor. I really can't describing anything nastier than stepping on toenails, let alone one's that aren't yours...

Her friend Alex is a senior in high school and is only allowed to use technology for an hour each day. So how does she use that hour? Skyping with Megan at 11 o'clock at night. Yes...that's what I would do....

She has a gigantic sack of whole potatoes in our room that she microwaves with cheese and then doesn't clean up so the room smells like hell in a 2 year old pickle jar. Not little Yukon Gold potatoes either, whole freaking potatoes (who even knows if she washes them). This, along with whole carrots and about 200 apples in our fridge. I'm all for eating healthy but.....

She wakes up in the middle of the night, waking me up as well, and not only sleep talks, but she sleep screams, sleep waves her arms around and sleep cusses people out (like she's mad at them or something). It actually gets kinda scary....to the point where I just hide under my covers for protection.

Well, I'll stop now because if I don't I'll be here all night. The point is the hopefully this coming weekend I'll be getting a new roommate thank god. I don't really feel like living in this horror movie for another semester and a half.

Anyway, nighty night! I'll see ya'll tomorrow!

Peace,
Christina

P.S. Dean Chelios and I are friends on Facebook (lol)
